This would be used almost exclusively on Lake Murray (SC) while I re-learn the craft. Of course TRIs and people who can teach you to sail them are fairly rare. I think I would have to actually buy the boat and then find someone to teach me to single-hand her.
Does anyone have any experience with this? If so, did you jump right into a tri as a first boat, or did you learn conventional sailing and then move to a Trimaran?
If the former, how long did it take for you to get to the point where you could single-hand her in high wind conditions?
Any insight would be appreciated.

I am more of a monohull guy, not much of Multi sailor though I have some experiance on cat's and tri's. In the rigging shop where I used to work I built lots of rig sets for the F27 and the first 24´s and I know several owners.
I think you could start in an F24 but some time in a responsive dinghy and maybe a beach cat will make you a better sailor much faster. If you want a F24 go for it but spenda bit of time in a Laser and a Hobie/Nacra/Prindle...
