Hey everyone, I am looking for a new hobby to get into and was thinking about doing a travel blog. I'm not going to be traveling the world or anything, I will just be taking weekend/day trip to towns/cities around New York state. I dont want to make money off of it, just want to document my local travels through pictures and reviews.
My question is how would I get started. I did a quick google search and found some info, but I wanted to see how others got started and how much it cost for a website and stuff. Any info is appreciated, thanks!
Why not just create a blogger account at blogger.com and set that up for yourself it is kind of self explanatory and if I can do one anyone can do one ...LOL .good luck and would love to see it when you get it done.
I periodically work on converting scrapbooks my parents assembled of a trip around the United States in 1940. In doing so, I have come to recognize that travel is best done with a little delving into history of the area first, then doing the travel, and then more research and then the blog.
If I were to do something today, I would likely have two dashcams and a GPS going continuously to record the raw trip, a bodycam, and a nice cam that can do panoramas and telephoto. That might be excessive, but recording a travel experience is every bit as much about recording the time as it is the movement over territory. I would love to have been able to experience what my parents did, but in some ways I am experiencing it MORE than they did because of their attention to recording the details of the trip.
