Found a self propelled Hoover hepa filter wind tunnel at a garage sale. End of the day no one bought it because it wasn't working. Asked the guy what he was going to do with it he said take it if you want it or it's going to the dump.

Took it home, opened it up. One of the switch wires had come loose. Repaired, cleaned, new belts, bags , filters. Looks like was only used a few times then stored in the garage as everything inside was sparkle clean vs the outside which was cover in dust and some scratches.

Thing was a beast and every bit as powerful as the Dyson I have. As a matter of fact the suction seems better.

Well anyway put it on Craigslist for 75 bucks. Sold within 4 hours. Made 50 bucks after the parts replacement. Nothing to sing about but it's money for ammo.

Tonight I fixed my Sony DE-185 tuner!!!!

For months now Ever since I took it off where she sat for years and put it on her side, the relay would keep going off LIKE I TURNED IT OFF... If I hit the side of my tuner it would come back.... I told my friend about this who is a repair guy and he said it sounds like something is loose.......... So months later (tonight) it got so bad it wouldnt stay on hardily @ all no matter how hard I hit it........ I took her into the kitchen, opened her up and started exploring...... Took me about 5 mins to fix the controls for the relay for speaker A/B and I discovered the control for B was indeed loose!! (I only use B ('A' hasnt worked for along time (Thats a different problem however as its controller is tightly on the board)))

I took a rubber band and tightly secured it around both units..... Seems to be working fine...

I do want to get another sony unit however as this one is on its last legs Im afraid and I dont wanna lose this model!!!!! (I do not want something that decodes digital,I only want analog like my DE-185))

This is probably the biggest thing I have fixed!! (I do feel good.... I FEEL BAD I POUNDED THE HELL OUT OF IT FOR MONTHS INSTEAD OF DOING WHAT I DID TONIGHT!!)

I tried to repair a cassette today but the tape was stuck together! (I think I spilled Iced tea on it months ago (Just getting round to fixin' it now))

I put it in and she played for 5 secs then split....... I opened her up tried again, same thing...... I TOOK THE TAPE OUT AND JUST THREW IT AWAY....... (Ill save the shell in case I need it (It was from a 1987 Jazz band (Danny Gottlieb ("Aquamarine")) (digitalised garbage (Sounded horrible (thin, etc) so I didnt care about ruining it (I bought it today as it had screws so I could easily open it and put the other tape in.. (Before I did though I listenend to it for kicks for a second))))))
