You can usually get the machine to handle a thick piece by slowly hand walking it through, using the wheel rather than the foot pedal.

Hello, does anyone know anything about dyeing a wedding dress? I live in the Atlanta area. I'd like to dye it very light blue for a girl for her sweek 16. It's mostly made of tulle. I posted this question originally in the Atlanta forum.

Is there a group within the sewing community that is about doing everything by hand, no machines?

I don't know Peequi, but I'm cutting out fabric to do a quilt top by hand. Love working on something in the evenings while I watch television.

I was just poking around in my photos to see if I had a pic of the wallet I made. No soap. Probably just as well, since the fabrics she chose for the wallet were kinda ugly. But I did find a pic of the notion bags I did for her at the same time.

It's probably synthetic, and I have no idea what to do with that. I've only died cotton.

I dyed my petticoat pink using RIT dye. I just followed instructions. I dyed it in the bathtub.
