"Ice, Ice Baby." I thought it was "A1A, Detroit Avenue," which seemed weird since the only "A1A" I knew of was in Florida. Turns out it was "Beachfront Avenue." Now it makes sense.
"Girls were hot wearing less than bikinis, (rocking them lover's? -- never did know what he said here. Sounded like a drunk Brooklynite) driving Lamborghinis. JEALOUS. Cause I'm out getting mine? Shea with the gauge and Vanilla with the 9. Ready..."
Lennon's "Mind Games." When I was a kid, I always thought it was, "Keep on playing those nightingales forever," although I had no idea what that meant.
It's actually, "We're playing those mind games together."
To this day, I still hear the incorrect lyrics and I have to remind myself.
It was only a couple days later when I learned the correct lyrics. I had excitedly told my best friend that there was a song about her. I heard the the chorus as,
Jane, Jane hold the ladder steady
Jane, Jane, I'm packed tonight I'm ready
Jane, Jane, hold the ladder steady
I'm a'comin' down to youir ar-ar-ar-rms
I'm a'comin' down to your arms.
An ol' 1962 tune sung by Sue Thompson, (yeah, I listen to 'oldies').
To my great embarrassment, Sue was singing about "James", not "Jane".
p.s. I have not told my Jane yet. Hopefully she'll forget all about it.
