Two that I have enjoyed over the years are radio control model airplanes and skiing. Both encourage travel.

I work for an airline and one of my hobbies is to travel to new places (mostly airports) and have lunch, then fly back.

My biggest "hobby" is volunteering in a specific underserved population. As a result, I get invited to speak at or attend conferences and retreats all over the country. In some cases, they pay me to come out. In others, I'm able to snag a paid-for room and just have to pay for my flight.

To that point, I "hobbied" in guitar.

Now I play in a band that gigs and we've traveled to surrounding towns, been paid (money and drinks), and even played at South By Southwest in Austin, Texas.
