I would like to hear about affordable places to live for someone interested in sailing and fishing. Fresh and salt water. where is your great boating place at?

Affordable in CA for ocean fishing and sailing would be Crescent City, CA.

For river fishing, Redding, CA area.

Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley in western Ky. This is the largest man made lake (by acreage) east of the Mississippi River.

Might want to check out Lighthouse Landing Resort in Grand Rivers, Ky. https://www.lighthouselanding.com/

Both lakes have lots of good fishing (until I take my fishing pole out there! lol) There are fishing tournaments on both. Here's the latest fishing report. And scroll on down for more information on fishing. https://www.explorekentuckylake.com/...ng/fishing.htm

We just had some friends move close to the lake and keep their boat busy on the lakes. They also love talking about how much money they're saving on property taxes here.

The part of Florida that was just scoured off the face of the planet, for the foreseeable future. Seriously. I like Pensacola, and didn't pay much attention how bad they were hit along with NAS Pensacola next door, but it was probably a near-miss. Not so Panama City and other places leveled down to the foundations.

Hurricanes are rare(er) there, they didn't plan for Cat 4. A very few did, and survived fine. Were I retiring this year, I'd have some Cat 4 resistant beach front property built, immediately, and move right in. There was a news story about a guy who did just that, couple years ago, and he's fine while the neighborhood is just...gone. Lucky him.

Probably a bargain next few years.

South Louisiana is very affordable. Plenty of salt and fresh water fishing available. Majority of fresh water boating has to be motor or paddle boats because of the lack of winds and heavy vegetation (Cyprus trees). Majority of the USA coast of the Gulf of Mexico is affordable.

salt water: nothing "affordable" with boats.
fresh water: too many. try NC/SC/VA.
