Whether it's a weekend day or weekday that I'm off, I'm constantly wracking my brain wondering where to go. If money was no object & I had all the time in the world, that would be a totally different story, but to think of a place I'd like to spend 1/2 the day in which I'd have to work the next day, I just can't really think of any places anymore.

I've just about been everywhere I care to in Southern California...amusement parks, zoos, shopping malls, waterfront areas to stroll, museums, going on drives along PCH, etc. Anywhere else would be better to spend a couple or so nights.

I actually just found out about this place to stroll around w/ shops & eateries, but I'll see about going there today as I have the morning/day off. The drive is a little farther than I wanted to go today.

I thought about the L.A. Arboreteum, but don't think I feel like that today. I thought about the Aquarium of the Pacific, but don't want to spend $37/person to see some fish.

Sigh!
If you need ideas of where to go, we watch youtube videos of Huell Howser. Just when you think you've been everywhere, he'll take you somewhere new. Thank you Huell, RIP

I'm going fishing today. We're about 25 miles from the largest man made lake east of the Mississippi River (Kentucky Lake). I know everything is going to be packed with this being a holiday weekend, but I like to go, and my wife fusses if I don't go for some "me" time. Just wish the fish would quit social distancing around my hook!

Yay, the next 2 Sats, I work only 4 hrs, then I'm free the rest of the day! I think I'll go on a drive on at least one of those Sats.

We do a lot of different things. If there is good snow in the winter we go snowshoeing, or I go ice fishing. I have a shop and do some hobbies, we hunt so we may go try and find some birds.. In the spring/summer we hike and garden. My wife does some crafts in the winter too.

Fall we are pretty much harvesting and canning or putting up food and hunting.

Sounds very nice!

Lately, I've had a 3-day weekend off from work for Christmas, will have another for New Year's, the regular (2-day) weekend off after that, the middle Sun off, then finally the last full weekend of Jan off.

I don't like going on day trips the day before having to go back to work. I tend to have the free day before work be a relaxing at home OR just a stay-locally-in-town day.

Even 3-day weekends zip by so fast, it's time to go back to work already!

Hike both weekend days. Movies. Errands. Normal life. Still work part-time, which involved occasional weekend shifts
