It's tough figuring out what to do every weekend when the bigger variety of good stuff/activities are an hour's drive away. There are some things in my immediate area, but not a lot. The biggest things right here is a sports arena, few performing arts facilities, bowling alley, movies, malls, & restaurants.
Well, no one goes to a live performance every single week or probably bowls every week either.

I usually sit home and read since there is not much to do here and most things are a hassle to get to or do and some things are just out of the budget and why spend all that gas to go somewhere ? and then usually if you go somewhere it is usually a disappointment .No thank you I can stay home and save my money .

Friday night, last night, dinner with friends. This morning I have to go to renew my driver's licence as I am required to have an eye test for it. As the place is at the local mall I will look for some winter clothes as, at long last, we have got some cool weather. On the way home there is the joy of food shopping. Hoping to spend some time in the garden this afternoon, start my new book and then a quiet night in. Tomorrow morning a breakfast with some family members who are home from their usual expat location. Then a big rest as I have two of the grandkids staying for a few days next week as it is the start of their school holidays.

I do many of the things you do.
Sometimes it's good to have a slow weekend. Weekends packed with activity make them go by so much quicker and work is stressful.
We also do some drinking from time to time.
And we go to the gym and go hiking.
It sounds to me like you don't have kids or they're grown. That gives you a LOT of time to pursue something seriously. You know, if you really like painting or writing, or music, or dancing, or photography as someone mentioned, you can get really good at something.
Unless of course you already do your passion for your job.

Summer Activities!
Well, as we approach SUMMERTIME, I assume more people will be busier w/ activities, so what have you got planned? For me, it's ALWAYS the MOVIES, EATING OUT, MALL-GOING, a little SHOPPING, & :
May
- air show
- night food market w/ different foods & music (1st one my area is having)
- fun day w/ mother for Mother's Day
June
- Knott's Berry Farm (theme park)
- night food market w/ different foods & music (IF I liked going the 1st time)
- (fun day w/ father IF he was still alive)
July
- Bruno Mars impersonator show
- OC Fair (maybe)
- night food market w/ different foods & music (IF I liked going the 1st time)
August
- Sawdust Festival
- night food market w/ different foods & music (IF I liked going the 1st time)
I may finally go bowling one day at this fairly new bowling/entertainment center that opened several months ago.

I try to walk everywhere if that is possible. Usually, I meet with friends for a couple of drinks or a board game night. If not, you'll find me with a book at home

Nothing overly exciting I suppose, watch a lot of movies, sports, and play video games. Spend some time with the GF. I usually do a workout once per weekend.
I’m more of a home body but I can’t say I’m content with the current way things go, which is why we’re moving. There’s very little to do here in general by my standards and I don’t enjoy just doing things for the sake of them. I’m intensely logical so for me it’s all a ratings game, if I’d rather be playing a video game than I’m doing that, I’m not leaving the house to visit a farmers market I couldn’t care less about just to say I did something different lol. I’m just not like that.
We are moving to Las Vegas into a house where we’re building a pool, so swimming and enjoying the outdoors will be a daily part of life there. I look forward to things I actually enjoy in a city exciting enough for my tastes - I love comedy shows, I love variety shows, sports events (Golden Knights), exploring new restaurants, attractions, arcades, and all kinds of things that city offers. My city is the same size, but sleepy, and having been here for 30+ years it’s just the same things I’ve already done. Saturday Market, a rose garden, the same hikes (ok, still pretty!), breweries and wineries (I no longer drink), etc. Not enough to get me out of the house. We did it all, many times, and I’d prefer to be working (writing) than doing any of that.
I’m pretty easy to please though, I really enjoy just being home, working out, watching my movies, doing my writing, and sometimes I like to get out and do something exciting but it needs to be enough. My standards are just high I guess, I’m not leaving the house for nonsense. I’m leaving the house for world class entertainment on The Strip.
