Saturdays rather depends on what happened on the night before!
In my younger days Saturdays would be a complete blur as I recovered from yet another heavy hangover. But now that I am older and a little wiser Saturday mornings are spent jogging for 2 or 3 hours; voluntary work for 3 or 4 hours; spending the afternoon watching a local sports team in action; Saturday evening wining and dining with friends.
Sunday really is a day of rest, although I will usually spend the morning cleaning my home, reading and spending time with my girlfriend whenever she can make it.

Nice to still see posts here!
This weekend, it's working 12-hr days on BOTH Sat & Sun this time, but I'll be going out for a bit for my own well being...need that "fresh air" after all that working in front of the computer the entire time.
But later today (Fri.), I'll be going to this night market w/ food & vendors. It's the 1st time this specific event will be held although I've gone to things similar to it.

During the warmer months I like to do yard work, BBQ, find new outdoor places to take the kids, and go to live sporting events.
During the winter I don't go out as much. Usually to indoor house projects, catch up on all my shows/movies, and watch winter time sports.
One BIG thing I want to start doing is traveling more, even if it's just weekend trips. Now that the kids are getting a little older and the wife and I are finically stable.

I no longer work outside the home, and my husband has a weird work schedule (working basically non stop 2 weeks, and then completely off two weeks). So it's like I live two different lives - I do whatever I want when he's gone and whatever he wants when he's home, which thankfully is pretty much what I want to do as well. (I'm training him though for retirement - I am incorporating more and more "me time" when he's home so he doesn't expect all day every day to revolve around him when he's retired!)
So when he's gone, I eat weird food - yogurt, grocery store sushi, cucumber water, almost a vegan lifestyle because I couldn't care less about meat. I watch BBC programming and oddball movies till late late at night. I do a LOT of volunteer work. I dig around a lot in the yard. I visit with girl friends, and we sometimes do art projects, we go to lunch, etc. Sometimes I go out of town or out of state for a few days to visit family or friends but I generally stay with them - it's not really a vacation, just a visit.
I catch up on deep cleaning projects like baseboards, ceiling fans, mulching the flower beds, weeding (he HATES weeding though he loves weed EATING, which I hate - LOL). I may do spring cleaning or things like taking down drapes to clean them, that sort of thing. I also do all the ironing, and I do things like air mattress pads, decorate for seasonal stuff (I love interior decorating). I stay busy but it's totally on my schedule and whenever I want to stop, I just stop.
I do more reading when he's gone too, though we are both readers and both always have a book going. But when he's gone, I usually finish several books - when he's home, I usually read just one book.
I love love love to go to an afternoon matinee all by myself and watch some movie that he wouldn't care anything about. For instance, I went to see A Star Is Born by myself during the afternoon, and had a marvelous time, and he would have hated that movie.
Sometimes when he's not home, I don't leave the house for a day or two. When he's home, we are always out and about it seems. If I don't leave the house, I may not get dressed - by that I mean, "put on a bra and some makeup." Those days are exceptions though - I usually eventually become a civilized human being in actual clothes rather than jammies. But it's ten am right now and I'm still in my jammies. LOL
When he comes home, I do more meal cooking (so does he, he loves to grill). We go out and about a lot more often, for pleasure (I get out a lot for volunteering but often just go straight there and straight back, both when he's home and when he's not). We eat out more. We do projects like building a fence, or staining the fence, or building a raised bed or whatever. This last time he was home, we power washed a bunch of stuff for instance, and drained the hot tub, and trimmed up a lot of bushes, that sort of thing. Summers are long and hot here so we try to do as much as possible outside before June through September, though I still do things like weeding and fertilizing throughout the summer and of course we keep the yard up, but we don't do big PROJECTS then.
And there are always dogs and they need our daily attention - feeding them, loving on them, playing with them. We don't walk them as often as we should but we do that sometimes. We have a big backyard and we do play with them though so they get exercise. They are spoiled brats and basically useless though they WILL bark at people I'm expecting like the termite people, and people passing on bikes or walking other dogs. Strangers breaking into the house in the middle of the night could probably give them a treat and be fine!
Anyway, that's my weird life. It will change in a few years when my husband retires, so like I said, I am trying to ease him into that mode of "I do have my own life and I am not responsible for your entertainment" and though I think there will be an adjustment period, I also think we'll be fine. Thankfully we both have an independent streak and we are also what we call each other's "boon companions" and "running buddy."
We enjoy a lot of the same things, but when he retires, he's going to have to get used to me watching things like "Fleabag" and "Call the Midwife," and Agatha Christie shows - while I drink a mango smoothie. He can join in or go to another room. We'll work it out! (He cannot join me for lunches or art projects with girlfriends though - he'll have to find something to do on his own!)

Well, today's another Saturday wracking my brain wondering where to go! I'm going to this live performance tonight locally, but that's not until 8pm...it's still the morning right now. I went to the Original Farmer's Market & The Grove 2 Sats ago when I was free, but I'm stumped here once again.
A couple of weekdays next week, I'm going to this shopping area where I go about every several months or so, but mainly because I have a $20 gift card to use at a restaurant over there.
I'm also going to an arts & crafts festival w/ food, etc.
