I think I had that. You blew it up like a bubble, a plastic bubble. It was okay but what were you supposed to do with a stupid plastic bubble balloon. But I did kind of like making the bubbles. Then all of a sudden we couldn't play with this stuff anymore.

Cap guns were awesome too. Loved the smell. Do they have those anymore?
They were cool, with the little plumes of smoke. I can almost conjure the smell! I don’t know if they still sell them. What they do still sell in a candy store on the boardwalk down here, which surprised me a lot, are candy cigarettes. Same box with cowboy on it, same pink/red end to look like real cigarettes! Whenever I see them I think “who would buy these for a kid today?”’ It’s probably more nostalgic adults. They also still have the wax candy lips and mustaches, the candy dots on paper, and the little wax bottles filled with colored liquid sugar.
How about the “clackers” or “ knockers” thingys. A cord attached to two billiard balls with a handle on the center of the string. Idea was to clack the balls together at the bottom and top of the arc. All fun and games until you broke your teeth out.
I'd have to look, but may still have a pair of those in a "childhood toys" box somewhere. The balls were a very hard translucent plastic, and I heard of them breaking apart, there's got to be an ER Doc somewhere who picked shards out of a kid's face. I'd be afraid to even try them after fifty years, if only that the string could no longer be trusted, let alone the plastic aging out. Like a ping-pong paddle, how long was one expected to sit there and bang those things together once one had "mastered" it? Probably bad for the hearing, as well.
I remember those plastic rubber toy bakers. I think they were called Creepy Crawler makers. And there was one set that was for girls. I am a girl I had both sets. Burned my fingers on those things more times than I care to count.
I got a burn nearly every time that I used my Easy-Bake Oven.

Jarts lawn darts were a blast. We loved them as kids.
To think none of my friends or I were impaled by them is a miracle. We used to play games like throwing them as high as we can and standing underneath the trajectory until the last second. Or throwing them overhand at each other.
We all did back in the day! No one knew how toxic it was.
Me too...roll the little balls of mercury around the floor. Maybe explains my previous post about Jarts.
