Okay, so I bought an old wardrobe to refinish....but it smells OLD! How do I get this smell out of the piece? I do not my clothes to have that 'old smell". Any ideas???
Put a 50 percent bleach solution (half water/half bleach) in a spray bottle and cover the interior and other hidden surfaces and corners with the spray then allow to dry out before continuing with the refinishing. Additional applications may be required.
I have had this problem in the past too... place the drawers out in the sun. That will help quite a bit. Also, putting lava rocks in a sock in each drawer will absorb the smell. Put a cachet with your favorite scent in each drawer...

Thanks for the advice. But, is there any other way? I am not to fond of bleach.

The safest way to clean old wood without damaging the patina is with "Murphy's Oil Soap" following the directions to the letter. The smell will be gone and the piece will look almost like new.
You could also put open boxes of Baking Soda or charcoal inside and let them sit for awhile.
The Murphy's Oil Soap method suggested by Tightwad is the best for treating the entire piece.
