I say the more the merrier! But then again, I'm sure it wouldn't be good for business financially. Good thing I'm not in charge.

I wish it could expand but I am not sure it could. We are looking at thin talent pool with the expansion of the European/Russian leagues. Similar to what people say is happening with the MLB currently.

MLB is fine. I think you might be referring to the NBA, actually.

I don't think it needs to expand, but I disagree about the thinning of talent. 3rd and 4th lines are better than ever. Plus, if you look at the draft yesterday, the future looks bright.

MLB is too big in some ways but the NBA is very big in a small talent pool.

Even with all their diluted players?

It sure does. I just wonder if the interest is there. But then again, I'm always stuck in the south due to job prospects, family. I'm sure up north, and of course Canada, expansion options are there. The draft was definitely lookin' good. Watched the whole thing.

I agree, the draft looks good but I think adding more teams will eventually thin out the talent pool because of the size issues. at 30 teams and 25 man rosters, that is 750 already. Adding four teams (judging by realignment) increases it to 850. Sure not as big as football but it does give more room for third liners at some teams to become second liners and second liners to become first liners. Now if they succeed, no problem. The issue is if they are true second or third liner and become the star for the team. I know we can think of some of them around the league already.

That and attendance issues could be an issue. Look at the Coyotes, if Glendale falls through, the league is looking to Seattle. Is that a hockey town (I believe they had a team in the 60's or 70's), we could find out soon.

Kansas City should get a team. Unlike a lot of other NHL hopefuls, they already have a big league arena built (the Sprint Center), plus a fanbase that is more dedicated then people realize. Also, this would give the Blues a good interstate rival.
