We love hockey and we love are STARS! For us, hockey is one of those sports that we feel is better watched in person than on tv. We've been to about 20 games over the past two years and 30 over the past four. We find it more exciting than football(in person), and rank right there with a Mavericks game as far as pace. I agree with some others on here though that it probably still ranks #4 out of foootball, basketball, baseball, and hockey.

Viewing hockey live is a far better experience than TV. Can't say that for football or hoop.

Yep, I concur on hockey. I love the Mavs games as they are also pretty fast paced. Football on the other hand, I agree with(unless I'm in a suite).

hockey is awesome live and with HD technology it's getting a lot better on TV .... they shoot it from more traditional basketball angles and are still able to capture the puck movement as well as the player movement (just following the puck on tight shots is annoying as you can't see the play)

I think hockey has by far the fastest pace out of the main 4 and translates well live ..... I love them all though

Right now my main beef is why the canadian feeds on center ice are never in HD

I agree, but it gets pricey, and for some of us, we have no local team. The wife and I ALWAYS get in a couple Kings games when we are visiting the inlaws in L.A. That mixed with a fair share of In N Out burgers (which Oregon does not have either ) makes the trip worth it!

The NHL was foolish to leave ESPN. As mentioned above they are a huge advertising/publicity machine that almost every home has access too. Lots of cablesystems don't carry VS....and they only show one game a night. Big mistake Bettman. ESPN knows hockey will crawl on their knees to get back on that network.

I agree there and the only time they show anything hockey. Its CINDY CROSBY and ALEX OB!TC#KIN!!! Hate it. Why i stopped watching ESPN

For some reason, I think the coverage on ESPN, has been the worst this year, as compared to the other post lockout years (when the NHL left ESPN). Forget them talking about it on First Take and maybe there may be 1 highlight on the AM sportscenter, if Bucchigros (big time hockey fan) is doing the news. I have a feeling it could be a way to blackmail or bribe the NHL, to get back on ESPN, but at a abysmal rate.

if you get Directv, the NHL network is part of the basic package.

they go game to game with live look ins every night and every afternoon they replay one game from the night before, also every Friday they air a game live.

If Versus got into more homes, it probably would have a better cache nationwide. Still, unless your local team is an absolute DYNAMO, it's always going to be more prominent in the north and traditional hockey markets.
