Since we appear to be in the majority on this forum, IMO we deserve our own fan thread.

I'll start off with a question. Now that we've got Sutton, should Snow continue to pursue Markov (if available) or turn his attention to getting a forward?

And if so, which FA forward?

I'm thinking Marleau......

(but I would still like to see Markov here if possible)

Okay, now this is embarassing. Not a peep out of any Isles fans here? (Do I have to start playing The Chicken Dance or what? )

Today's speculation/rumor is that the Isles are possibly sending prospects and picks to Boston for a "surprising" player in trade. Since Boston can't afford to give up any defense, it must be a forward. The only two surprising forwards would be Marc Savard or Patrice Bergeron (I suppose Axelsson is also possible but personally I can't see why we'd do it).

I like Savard as a player and of course for points, but Bergeron IS younger (only 24). Plus-minus really is irrelevant for any current Bruins player... can you believe they actually have a body in net? ... so Bergeron's -28 doesn't make me quite as nervous as Souray's numbers did (he had no excuse).

Thoughts or predictions?

I doubt its Savard, unless the B's are having serious cap problems. Guess Chara's kicking himself in the a$$ for going there ,huh ? Bergeron is a good player, but I'd rather see Marleau, who I think needs some new scenery.

Don't like the Sutton pick up. Too slow, easily beaten wide as seen in the Rangers series, especially for the $ he got. New NHL is smaller, mobile D men. For the right price after a buyout, I'd like to give Kasparitis a chance as the 7th D man. Put him in against slow teams like Toronto. We need someone who can get people in the stands excited. He's still one of the best hip checkers around.

We also need a heavyweight who can put some excitement into the old arena.

Well we got Vasicek, though I haven't seen any numbers reported yet.

I like that move, but does that mean no deal w/Boston? Hm.

Now here is something interesting as per Eklund, though I doubt there's any substance behind it:

"Amonte and Roenick are always linked together, so it is apt that I got rumours involving both this morning...First off, JR is looking likely to return to a team...As many as three teams, Toronto, Calgary, and Columbus and Boston have some interest. And don't count out the Islanders as well. JR will come in and play for the league min with bonuses..."

It'd be great fun to see JR here, and I agree with you on Darius. We haven't had a real fan favorite here since he left, other than Steve Webb who's now busy selling printer ink and coaching youth hockey. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but I miss those guided-missile hits of his.

My two favorite players as of this writing are Mike Sillinger and Brendan Witt. Not only is Witt a valuable player but he's got that edge-of-crazy personality at times that's priceless.

Gotta love the Witt Smirk especially when it appears in a NYR game!

They didn't seem thrilled with him during the playoffs.

Vasicek is a big boy, but -39 for his career. Allison in an incentive laden contract is a good gamble. Get him the right helmet with the proper mouthpiece and he'll reduce the chance of another concussion by 70%. In this day and age it pisses me off to see players with histories of concussions wearing those stupid CCM helmets with the chin strap hanging at chest level. Why bother? Might as well use Butchie Goring's helmet

Personally, I think JR is done, but see how serious he is by inviting him to camp.

Allison skates like he's wearing bob skates; there aren't enough OOOOOO's in SLOOOOOWWW.

On the up side, he'll add about 3% to your power play success rate.

The Islanders made their best move of the off season a month ago when they bought out Yashin; million dollar talent, 10 cent motivation.

I am sorry Vasicek landed in your pond. Just a big body that takes up a lot space! He never really offered much at all to the Predators, but I did not keep track of him in Carolina!

Alright, never noticed that there was an Isles thread!

On a depressing note what have they done to our jerseys? They're hideous!
