Wednesday night took into consideration a game 7, they can't change it once they announce it, it's only fair that the Devils get a few days rest. Yes this would be Marty's 4th Cup. I do like when other teams win (that's why I'll never root for Detroit), I usually root for underdogs, so I am rather torn. I won't be disappointed either way.

How can you be torn with the handle you have? Unless, of course, you're paying homage to a mythical creature and not a nod to a team named after said mythological creature.

1. Detroit didn't get a chance to rest before the Finals in 2009. Why is ity now fair for the Devils to get some rest? If they want rest then they could have let another team win and they could be golfing now, or at the beach.
2. Detroit has spread out their Cup wins, and graciously allowed others to have the Cup a few times. Actually, the Devils have done the same. I don't understand, therefore, why you would never root for Detroit based on the reason you stated. I think the real reason is that you hate them, and just need to come up with a reason to justify it.
I've always disliked the Devils, but I rooted for them in 2003, and I might do it again this time. I haven't decided yet.

And yet, I'm a fan of both NJ and Detroit...
The Wings might go heavily after Parise after the series...
The first game was quite mild compared to what I was expecting. Kopitar faked out Brodeur with the same shot that he made on the Blues' goalie. Regardless, they stole home ice from the Devils with the win last night. If they can go up 2-0 on NJ and take that back to Staples, the Kings will be in prime position to go all the way this year. I expect NJ to make some serious adjustments in the two off days.
With the way the Kings are playing, I wouldn't be surprised if they sweep.
