I don't see a topic dedicated to the Penguins in general, so here's one. Glad hockey is back, especially after the giant **** the Steelers and Pirates both took in 2012.
If the season ended today, the Penguins would be the #7 seed in the Eastern Conference.
I know that there are alot of Dan comments flying around out there, but personally he's a good fit for the Pens. They sit near the top of the Eastern Conference and are just a down right tough team to play against. They have legitimately one of the scariest PP units in the game right now (especially since Geno is back) and have great talent that is stepping into the lineup. The wheels haven't fallen off yet, and I personally don't agree with some of his choices but he's going to make mistakes. When you roster 2 of probably the top 5 players in the game right now, yes you should be making runs at the cup every year. It hasn't happened but the team has a strong bond with Bylsma and you can't really shake that up.
Dan has one more year or so to put it all together again. Crosby, Neal, Malkin, Sutter, Kunitz, Letang, Bennett (and if rumors come true possibly Iggy [on a side side note I really hope that they get rid of Despres]), and some serious help available in Wilkes-Barre they should contend, and SHOULD win. If he doesn't get it done this year or next he's probably out.
Pens are looking great!! Shero pulled the trigger on two great trades well before the deadline. Looking forward to seeing #10 (now Morrow, no longer Glass) and #3 in the line ups. Two fantastic Shero style trades to bring them in. Seems like a complete playoff team now.
