Avery and Lapierre fled like cowards and Cooke got knocked out with one punch by Evander Kane.
So, how did having a goon stop Avery and Lapierre? It didn't.
Kane is far from a goon, probably a first line forward on ANY team, yet he fought Cooke. I would rather have a league without goons, where players can choose to fight.

Because other players took the brunt of it for them. Picture them in the NHL pre-1991 when there was no instigator rule. They would have gotten murdered.
You completely missed the point. Without enforcers, those types of players would have free rein to cheap shot the opposition's stars.
Not at all... How often has one of these three gone with an enforcer?
MY point is... the enforcers as now So big and easily capable of doing more than KO'ing someone... what will be the league and the general public's response to that?

Your point doesn't stand. You're more likely to see that from an open ice hit, not a fight.
