I would love to be a fly on the wall in Vladimir Putin's suite tonight. If Russian play doesn't get the Gold Medal, then Messiers Malkin, Ovechkin et al. might find themselves going for the gold literally, at the Kolyma gulag in Siberia! Kolyma might have been a better venue than Sochi the ice and snow might at least be fully frozen!
Didnt show Pres. Putin again after second goal. I was thinking the same thing just that their contracts get in the way.
This was to showcase Russia and the hockey team is a source of nationalist pride. I think this was to be how great his system has improved the country.
Good win, but I still don't understand why the 3rd goal by Russia was DQ'd.
The net was jarred from it's moorings. I'm assuming that it made more sense to make it a rule based upon the simple fact that it was not in place as opposed to one that said it had to be X percent out of place. One can't expect someone to defend a goal sitting sideways.
What a crap win for the USA, what I wonder is if the goalie knocked it off the mooring on the play? If he did the goal should have counted. I am rooting for Russia because the team has 4 Columbus Blue Jackets on the roster, I know I am a communist trader now.
Russia should have won the game. The goal that was called off because Quick knocked the net a millimeter off the peg was just crazy. If ya can't win fair and square then cheat!
It doesn't matter....Canada will take home the gold.
CAN-FIN today at noon, but I don't see it on my channel line-up. Might have to watch on live streaming.
