Wow I can't believe this thread is still going. And almost 9 years later I'm almost embarrassed at some of these suggestions I made! Like Albuquerque and OKC
Both Oklahoma City and Tulsa Oklahoma and Kansas City Missouri attempted to get the Pittsburgh Penguins to move to theirs perspective cities but fail of course. The Penguin decided to stay in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and rewarded the city of Pittsburgh with a World Championship this year.

I'm sure back in 2007, the Pens were a prime contender for relocation. Heck, even the situation in Chicago (!) was pathetic and irrelevant. No Winter Classics yet. No NBCSN, no 3 on 3 OT. KC was the darling for expansion/relocation.
The Caps weren't drawing well yet even with Ovi. The Bruins had weak attendance.
In other words, much changes in a decade, and will continue into the next decade.
maybe San Diego should get one? or Seattle? I feel Milwaukee should get one as well
I think Portland could get one. Not sure what the territorial rights are with the Canucks are, but that's less than 180 miles from Vancouver to Seattle which could pose a problem.
I'd like to see the Phoenix Coyotes get contracted, move the Carolina Hurricanes to either Portland or Seattle, move the Florida Panthers to Quebec City, and transfer the Nashville Predators to the Eastern Conference.
Looks like Seattle is the new favourite now! I guess whether they get granted a team or not for 2020 will hinge on how successful the upcoming season ticket drive for their would-be new team turns out to be!
If/when Seattle does get a team, I say move the Coyotes to the Central Division! There is NO way we can separate the California Trio and Vegas (just look at the sheer volume of travel between Vegas and California), and the same goes for Edmonton and Calgary, as well as Vancouver and the would-be Seattle team!
Quebec and Seattle or BUST! I'm still miffed at Vegas being given consideration over those two!
That is due to Seattle having an uncertain arena situation up until recently. That has been resolved, though not to most Seattleites agreement. The old KeyArena will be rebuilt (again), and will be NHL ready by 2020.
