Too many sporting events over the first week of this year have been marred by poor officiating. That sort of thing should not be what people talk about in reference to high profile games. That entire game was one bad call, or one bad NON call after another, for both and against both teams. And if that was a hook, god help the NHL. But Shaw did flop. So, no one is calling that a make up call, but no one isn't, either.

I predict that Mike Yeo will be unemployed by the end of the week. Which is a shame, considering that the Wild haven't had consistant goaltending this year, or last, and last year they got into the second round of the playoffs.

Good game last night between the Habs and Islanders. A 7-game series between them would be a treat.

I was wrong about Yeo. I am not sure that he keeps his job through the season though.

Blackhawks ended the first half on a good note, that was a good game to win. It's been a rough few weeks for them.

The Pens are decimated with illness, injury, concussions from cheap hits, and still playing tough.

Gotta give credit where credit is due, the Islanders own the Rangers this year. Good thing I sold my tickets to this game.

Just saw a good ESPN 30 for 30 about the Red Army hockey team that lost the Miracle on Ice game. Interesting because it was from the Russian side. I'm sure they wanted to explore it deeper, but could only go so far given who its about. Well done though.

I'm waiting on the Red Army documentary. Closest theater is 6 hours away. The local art house theater showed the trailer before Foxcatcher so I hope this means they plan on showing it.
