Against our old friends the Sharks who are starting ex-Kings backup Martin Jones. These games between the Kings & Sharks are always entertaining!

Sharks 5 @ Kings 1.

Raise your hand if you had Nick Shore scoring the Kings first goal of the season?? C'mon, put your hands down! Justin Williams is in Washington, Jarrett Stoll & Mike Richards are gone, but this team still has Tyler Toffolli (breakout last year before he got hurt), Anze Kopitar, Marian Gaborik, Tanner Pearson, Jeff Carter, and Milan Lucic imported from Boston, the player with 1 career goal entering the season, gets the Kings only goal on the night. Joe Thorton tied the game up for the Sharks, while Joe Pavelski put them in the lead late in the first. The Sharks would add 2 more in the second from Brent Burns and Tomas Hertl to put the game on ice. In his first game in LA, Lucic received a game misconduct when he hit Logan Couture by the Sharks bench. Martin Jones looked pretty good in his Sharks debut while Peter DeBoer got his first win as Sharks head coach.

Kings next in action when they take on the Arizona Coyotes on Friday at the Staples center. Puck drop will be around 7:30 local time, 10:30 east coast time which I'm going to use.

7express, do you live in LA? Wish I still did, I'd definitely be a season ticket holder.

Terrible game last night. We just couldn't get anything going. Martin Jones had some nice saves as well.

3,000 miles away in Southwest Connecticut. That's why I'm using Eastern time for all of the game previews, lol.

Oops, I misread that as you saying you were going to the game.

Coyotes 4 @ Kings 1

: smack::s mack::sm ack:. Really, I can't do enough of those which describes this game. Once again lethargic, and after they missed the playoffs last year by like 2 or 3 points with that dismal 1-3-4 or 1-4-3 stretch they had in January, all 82 games are important whether they are in the beginning of the season, middle of the season, or end of the season. The Coyotes finished the scoring output by the 10 minute mark of the 2nd period, so in a span of 5.5 periods they had given up 9 goals to the Sharks & Coyotes. Now the Sharks maybe good, hell I had them at 3rd place in the Pacific and making the playoffs, but the Coyotes will be one of the worst teams in the league. They scored 4 goals in 10 shots too which makes it worse. We only 1 of 2 teams not playing on Saturday (forgot who the other is, and since I have to be up in 4 hours I don't feel like checking) and don't play again until Tuesday so hopefully they can work out the kinks and get the show on the road here.

Next game is Tuesday, October 13 at home against the Vancouver Canucks. Puck drop will be around 10:40.

Wow. Not how I saw the season starting. What is up with Jonathan Quick? I was really hoping we got off to a good start this season, instead of racing into the playoffs like we always do.

OK, so maybe next game we'll only lose 2-0.

Canucks 3 @ Kings 0.

A completely embarrassing game all around as Ryan Miller hardly had to break a sweat as he only made 15 saves to record a shut out. For comparison's sake the Stars first line of Jamie Benn, Patrick Sharp, and Tyler Seguin had more shots on goal against Edmonton then the entire Kings team did combined. Embarrassing! And maybe it's time to give Enroth a shot on Friday, what's the worst that happens?? We lose again??

Next game Friday against the Wild at home. Puck drop around 10:40 PM.
