Their GF/GA differential is +26. Second best in the league is +11. I'd say that (despite 2 losses) they are definitely off to a very dominating start.
The fact that their 3rd and 4th lines have been scoring consistently says a lot.

Yes. The balanced attack has been a huge plus. Opposing teams can key on the Pacioretty and Galchenyuk lines and get stung by the 3rd and 4th lines.

And each line is defensively responsible.

Combine the above with Price's great goaltending and you've got a team that's really tough to play against.

Fast forward 2 months and they've now won one game in their last 10.

And now you have a right to complain.

Still on top of the division though.

Not for long...

That said, I think their problems will be very short-lived. They aren't playing poorly, so-to-speak -- They are severely lacking trust in their goalies, Tokarski has been atrocious, and Condon wildly inconsistent.
Terrien needs to stop shuffling the lines up, and Gallagher's return is sure to spark up that first line again.

Defense is doing a relatively good job at limiting SOGs. Need more offensive production from Subban, though. He has a wicked shot. He needs to use it more.

Agreed. The team isn't playing badly during this very rough stretch. They've been shooting into a lot of bad luck, fat posts and good goaltending.

If they're healthy come playoff time, they'll be a team nobody will look forward to facing.

Habs have Gallagher back and the team looked very good against the Bruins in the outdoor game today. Bruins were without a couple of key cogs which helped Montreal's cause but they were flying out there. Nearly put me in mind of the powerhouse squads of the mid-70s.

Agreed. This team will be just fine this season.

From a Flyers fan - congrats on your pronounced, outstanding win over Boston in their house.
Having said that - the Habs' Winter Classic sweaters are AWFUL - they look like Nordiques practice jerseys. Somewhat of a disgrace to such a storied NHL team.

Yeah? I really liked them. Especially the jacket Therrien was wearing.

Here's the jerseys.

This is the only pic I could find of Therrien's jacket.

Anyway, like I said, I liked the look. Kind of the inverse of the traditional bleu, blanc et rouge.
