Tortorella's doing a killer job with the Jackets, including a 16-game win streak..

Trotz is doing nice with the Caps. The problem in Washington isn't coaching up a good regular season.. it's can a coach motivate them thru the playoffs (?) Caps usually disappoint in the postseason. I'll vote John Tortoraella..

How? I mean, because he got the goalies to stop leaking like they were doing with Hitchcock there? I'd credit Brodeur (now a co-goalie coach) more than him. Even though the goalies have gone back to being mediocre the last two games again.

There are some great candidates this season so far. I'd give it slightly to Tortorella over Boudreau.

John Tortorella. He turned Columbus into a powerhouse.

Claude Julien -- not because of a successful season, but because he got fired and hired within a week.

I'm surprised there's no love for McLellan. They have at least a 10 point lead on the first non-playoff team. In addition, they're currently on pace for 99 points and getting to 100 would be their first one since '87. Barring a major collapse, this would be their first playoff appearance in 11 years.

Edmonton has been blessed with so many 1st overalls in the last decade there was always rough talent there. For whatever reason it was just a string of bad coaching or something.

Bad goaltending too.

Haven't had good goaltending since Roloson was there, until they got Talbot. Khabibulin and Dubnyk had some okay years there.

Bad management teams and front office too.
