This is the Brind'Amour I will always remember. Headbutting Matthew Barnaby in an all-out brawl that would make the 1970's hockey player proud.

They are the only team other than Montreal currently not in the top 8 who has a chance. I think it’s fairly safe to declare everyone else down there dead. Carolina, Montreal, Buffalo, and NYI will battle for the final 2 spots. I think everyone else in there now safely makes it. My hunch is that Buffalo will fall into oblivion soon with Montreal and NYI having the potential to do so as well though I think both might hang around til the end.

I think the Islanders hang in there. They are playing with a huge chip on their shoulder. Lou and Trotz have really pushed all the right buttons so far this season.

Montreal is just way too inconsistent, and lacks depth. Their defense remains atrocious, and their offense is all kinds of clumsy. I doubt they'll make it to the post-season.

Love seeing my Islanders finally turning a corner after keeping loser Garth Snow.

It is nice to see the Isles do well. As a Rangers fan I believe it's very important to keep that team relevant. The Islanders are very important to the NYC, Long Island and the NHL.

Time to strap in for the second half of the season. Next up will be the trade deadline and the final push to the playoffs!

Went to my first NHL game yesterday (Columbus vs Buffalo) and I can see the attraction. It's definitely more exciting to watch in person, with good seats, as opposed to TV. It looks like the Jackets have a pretty good team this year, but with a couple key free agents hanging over their heads who may need to be traded before the deadline. I'm officially on the wagon, plus the team's colors/logo are pretty cool

Things are finally looking better for the Flyers... for now.

Carter Hart just won rookie of the month and Gritty's favorite team has won six straight! But it seems they're still too far back from a wildcard.

It's important to the NHL to have a good team in Philadelphia, hate 'em or love 'em. The Sixers have obliterated them in popularity now.

I'm now interested in watching the Stadium Series game in Philly this month vs. the Pens. I wonder if it'll sell out, as that's a big football stadium and they've already had the Winter Classic at the Phillies ballpark.
