Who is your favorite current playing hockey player right now?

For me, Claude Giroux is my favorite:

Hard for me to go against Auston Matthews. He's the whole package: Energetic, enthusiastic, plays hard in all three zones, is a physical powerhouse... Individually, he may not be better than McDavid, but I find him to be better -- or more useful -- overall.

Aside from him, Filip Forsberg.

Lundqvist is my favorite goalie..

Also like Tom Wilson, and it's hard to not like/appreciate McDavid..

Yes, he has quite a history.

While not a Flyer - I think I like Luongo the best, when it comes to a goalie.

Highly disagree. McDavid does everything by himself. Draisaitl is good, but Tavares, Marner, and Nylander are all (arguably) better. It is Crosby (McDavid) vs Ovechkin (Matthews) all over again.

My recent fave Zetterberg is now gone. I’m not sure who I like of who is left, but I do like Ovechkin. For now I will say him.

I think it may just be Matthews' hard shot+quick release+surprises that really set him that high for me. He is much more mobile than Ovechkin has ever been IMO, and reminds me much more of Crosby with the fact that he uses his strength to get through people. McDavid is all about speed. More akin to Pavel Bure, but with better vision.

I'd have to go with Ovechkin, even as a Flyers fan.

I'm interested in seeing more of Matthew Barzal. I think Elias Petterson (sp?) in Vancouver.

Of course I've heard so much about them since last year but don't get to watch many Islanders or Canucks games

I like David Pasternak here in Boston. He shows some personality on the ice.

I haven’t selected a new favorite but I like Larkin on Detroit. I like many other players too, but none have made me pick them as a favorite yet.
