For the Coyotes, they get a proven goalscorer and top forward.

For the Penguins, they acquire a goalscorer, get younger, and create cap space. If they can acquire a defenseman through free agency or another trade, defense can be better.

$10 million a year for 7 years seems like a steep price for Bob. I have a feeling the Panthers will be wanting OUT of that by years 4 or 5.
Isles swapped out Lehner for Varlomov. Not sure what the exact price was for, but the Blackhawks signed Lehner for $5 million. I would've rather the Isles kept him instead. Now lets see what happens to Lee...

Supposedly Lehner turned down 2 years at 5 million each from Isles and went looking around the league. Was looking for a long term. Only interest was from Chicago and by then Isles signed Varlomov, who is a friend of Sorokin who Isles are waiting for from KHL.

IMO Lehner and agent screwed up and thought there was more demand for him. Remember Greiss has similar numbers last year, so Lehner might have been a product of the defensive system Trots implemented. We will see how he does with Chicago next year.

Lee resigned with Isles 7 years at 7 million each year.

Yep, the trade worked out for both clubs. Coyotes get a guy who can score and who will immediately contribute to the offense. Penguins dump salary, maybe shake up the team chemistry for the better, and get a decent guy in Galchenyuk who is a viable center and who can contribute... and get younger.

Smart matching Montreal's offer. Aho was incredibly valuable last season. One of the Canes' core players for sure.

Pretty much a no-brainer. He's an important building block for the franchise.
