The Winged Wheels haven't had any luck at all....Lidstrom breaks his stick late in the 3rd period of Game 2, and San Jose converts for the game winner. I also believe that the Wings were called for 10 penalties, vs the Sharks' 4 in Game 2...that's a bit of a bias...
I don't mind the Sharks, although I'd rather see Detroit win. If the Wings go down, they still have a remarkable 15-year run full of Stanley Cups, conference championships, Presidents' Trophies and division titles to cushion their fall...

Yep.... get it over with.... Don't think "all we have to do is win one more out of 4".
I still have scars from when the Pens lost to the Islanders after being up 3-0 in 75. Don't want to go through anything close like that again.
I said almost.
Now I see the Wings fans are latching on to a picture that shows 7 men on the ice during Marleau's game winner. The extra men were making a line change and to guys going off were being a bit lazy watching the rush down the ice. I have rarely seen a too many men call made unless one of the player coming on the ice PLAYS the puck prior to the guy he's replacing getting off the ice. There are almost always "too many men" on the ice during a change, but no one plays the puck. Talk about grasping at straws.
Losing sucks. I know, I'm a Sharks fan. All the those years the Sharks exited early, you could have blamed the refs, the bad bounces, the stupid seeding that some how always matched the Sharks against the "buzzsaw" 7th and 8th seeded team that was on a hot streak. Never heard a bunch of Sharks fans saying the seeding system was fixed. Every year they lost to a team the wanted it more and played better.
The Wings are playing sloppy hockey. Sure some of those calls are weak, but you put your stick between a guys legs turn it and yank it backwards, that hooking!!! If the victim embellishes, good for him. Are the Wings saying they are above that? They must be, becuase they sure as heck don't seem willing to do whatever it takes to win.
They have let the Sharks come back on them twice. It could easily be 2-1 Wings. They let it get away. They don't like losing? Play smarter hockey, stop taking penalties and have Howard close up that 5-hole. Even their coaching staff recognizes they are taking too many penalties they don't have too. Playing sloppy and taking penalties, brings on more penalty calls.
Bottomline, the Sharks are the better team. Get over it!
I don't know how the other local Shark fans feel, but, even though I like Drew and Randy, I listen to Dan and Jaimie quite a bit on the radio side when watching the game. Especially between periods. I enjoy Jaimie's analysis and his sense of humor. Anyone else do the same?
I'm in Nevada, but I have heard Dan and Jaime. I like them, but Randy is the voice of the Sharks. Drew is a close second and I really missed him when he went to the CBC for a year. Marty McSorley?
Or so thought the refs. By taking advantage and gaining confidence, do you mean that the Sharks did a good job of embellishing? I think instead of cleaning up their play, it is more important to have quality referees and linesmen officiating who aren't blindsided by embellising if the Wings want to win. I don't know about the gold medal line, but I do know Detroit has the gold medal coach.
I know you're new to hockey and haven't been around since the Wings were actually bad, but sometimes the slower team is forced into stupid penalties because they can't keep up.

Sweetie, I have been watching the Wings since they were barely 2" high and skating around on my parents black and white TV back before the Beatles were a group, thank you very much. Condescending men!
