I just witnessed a player "whack" his own goalie in the head for missing the puck and then, watched him get carried off on a stretcher?
What a fine example of sportsmanship and commoradery? All I know is... the expression on the offending teammates face was emotionless and cold. And for our children of tomorrow? Should we want them to look to these..."heroes"? He broke his stick on the goalies head for CRISSAKE!!!
I'd like to take what's left of his stick and shove it so deep into his rectum...the next time he hit the ice, he'd look like one of those ballerinas that 'pops out' of a music box.

Looked like he was aiming for the post and accidentally clipped the goalies face with the edge of the blade, but it was uncalled for anyways.

Keith Ballard did not intentionally whack Vokoun. While it was a bit excessive; it was not intentional and certainly not cause for your mindless commentary.

yeah i saw the replay when i was watching the Sabres on Versus :P but yeah the dude accidentally hit the best player on the team. yeah you have every right to slam your stick, but dude look before you anything. you look before crossing the street. Come on. if Vokoun is out long and they miss playoffs. then they can start getting pissed at him. but it was an accident

I was going to say "right on!" but then I read the rest:

I'm with JazzyJeff on this. It's not easy to tone down the intensity, and as the game wound down, I'm pretty sure he thought, "what the **** did I do that for?" It's been replayed enough on the sports channels so I'm sure he will remind himself to tone it down a notch or two!
