The first 3 Hawks goals were clean, Leighton deserved to be pulled...Bouche looks to be favoring his knee. First 3 Flyer goals were off traffic in front. Hjalmorrsson looked lost, standing around as the puck bounced. Put a body on someone. Niemi wasn't great but did OK. Sloppy game both teams said ice was soft.

Look.....Leighton played 27 games in the regular season winning 16 with GAA of 2.48 and a save percentage of .918 and now in the playoffs he has appeared in 9 games winning 6 with a GAA of 1.96 and a save percentage of .930 and 3 shoutouts so hes hardly the "unknown" you present him to be and he has stepped up and improved his regular season stats substantially in the playoffs....just what you look for in a good goalie.

One thing you look for in a goalie in the playoffs is also a goalie that doesn't get chased out of the net after letting up 5 goals on 20 shots too.

Exactly WHAT PART of SAMPLE SIZE MATTERS don't you get anyhow?

First of all, the debate was about the two goalies records in the PLAYOFFS. So any blather now about the regular season is just a diversion from the topic.

Nieme has faced a LOT more shots than has Leighton in 3 full rounds whereas Leighton has faced a lot FEWER. Just the law of averages alone makes your attempt at a comparison of their total playoff averages unfair.

Flyers looking much better tonight. Staying in their lanes, picking up their assignments, hitting....I just wish they would put some more shots on goal.

Only in IndiaNOplace:

The local NBC affiliate plays the stupid 500 Banquet rather than the Hawks/Flyers game! They started it live in the 3rd.

Just typical ... just typical.
