That's what I was thinking as well, If I had granite counter tops at thousands of dollars, no my dear, we will not be cutting on it, no matter what.....I would still get out my trusty cutting board. Holla !!

I would never do chopping, slicing, cutting on any surface other than a wooden cutting board (or other knife safe surface).....keeping my knives sharp is essential.

I think the bottom line is that if you love your countertop material and it works and you're happy - what else matters? Just don't disparage the choices of others. I see a lot of granite bashing on this forum. If you like laminate or quartz composite or concrete or marble - well good for you...be secure in your choice and stop bashing the choices of others.

Same here Catt-never would do an chopping, slicing etc on granite.
This is my first time with granite and love it!

As Catt stated whatever your counter top choice is and love it don't bash others who like something different.
