Design-wise, what do you wish would go out of style?

I wish painting natural (old) wood-work white would go out of style.
I wish using a multitude of products for the exterior of homes would go out of style. (houses you see with brick, stone, concrete, stucco etc. all in one house)
I wish yard knick-knacks would go out of style. (ducks, flamingos, deer, flags, colorful/glass balls)

marble countertops in the kitchen. Especially the yuck-colored ones that would never look good with any color ever made.

Vinyl siding.

Big honkin' garages that dominate the front of the house.

"No" and "low" -maintenance products being foisted on consumers. Unfortunately some of them actually believe these claims.

Stuff made to look like something it's not. It is fine to use modern materials, but respect them for what they are and don't try to "pretend".

Marble doesn't come in that many varieties. Most of it is like, a variation of white.

"I wish _______ would go out of style"

Flannel boxers
Coat & tie
Shoes with laces
Fedora hats
"Size matters"

Oh wait, house style...
"Size matters"
Mudrooms that are laundry rooms
Laundry rooms that are mud rooms
Formal Living rooms that are to "look at"
Single story foyers- even on on ranch (think, you'll figure it out!).
Master bedrooms that are to small for furniture (think, you'll figure that one out too!).
Jetted tubs that don't get used. Why? Because they're too damn small, too damn shallow,
and don't stay hot (all of which is obtainable for mucho denaro)
Poorly designed structured wiring (i.e. locations of outlets)- believe me it happens!
Brass, pewter, ORB, brushed nichel, polished nichel, chrome, and wrought iron door hardware-
I want Star Trek doors.
Any and every counter top material ever thought of. There should only be one- surgical S/S.

It could go on for ever...
... did I mention "size matters"?

Not really: mostly grayish white, but also many shades of: beige, black, green, rose and more. All depends where it comes from.

Aren't some of those really rare? In the past, when I was in the design industry, I think 99% of the time the marble I ordered was Carrara or Crema Marfil.
