The floors in my bedroom got redone a while ago. They are stained concrete in a very bold green and blue color. There is a green section and a blue section in the floor, with a sort of semi-circle line separating the colors. Before I had a white carpet and blue walls, but with a dark floor my blue walls make my room feel like a cave. I want to repaint but am having difficulty coming up with a color that would look nice- any help?

Thanks- I was thinking that, or a light green. Would that work as well?

Repaint the floor or the walls?

I would take a shade (from either the blue or green on floor) in a lighter color and go with that on the wall, OR a nice creamy yellow.

Check out "Dew Pointe" . . . very light blue, with a bit of smokey gray. Look under the "Atmosphere" section:

I'd get some carpet or at least an area rug in there. That painted concrete looks terrible.

I don't think the stained concrete looks terrible, but it does look very busy which is not something I'd want in a bedroom. If I were you, I'd be looking for a big brown or muted earth tone area rug (solid or very muted pattern) that when laid would show about 1-2 feet of the concrete floor. I would then paint the walls a yellow/brown/wheat/khaki color. You could do an accent wall in the blue or green of your floor if you are wanting a "pop" in the room, but I'm using the earth tones to try and ground the room.
