So I've got a more open, contemporary floor plan with a small foyer, great room with vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, adjoining dining room, and kitchen. I'll have natural maple floors throughout, black granite counters in kitchen, brushed nickle fixtures, maple cabs with cordovan stain (http://www.qualitycabinets.com/finis...=1279999952031), red/black pendant lights for kitchen (5" Verona Pendant Light - 502-1FR ELK lighting (http://www.simplypendantlighting.com/spl5021frek.html - broken link)), and I've got some large, rough sawn pine beams in the great room that I'll have to stain.

I've got red/black/gold accent rugs (red is the predominant color), a steel gray sofa (for now), and my dining furniture is dark brown bamboo w/glass table top and gold cushions (see here for picture of floor plan and furniture: //www.city-data.com/forum/15097118-post16.html).

What color should I paint my living space (foyer, dining, great room all one color, and not sure about the kitchen).

Thanks very much for your input . . much appreciated!

If you want to go really bold you could try some type of a dark burgundy red, or possibly a medium/dark grey would also work well with that modern setup.

Thanks for the feedback. I'd probably pass on the dark burgundy, but I was thinking about gray (leaning more toward the brownish grays vs. the greenish grays). I was looking at Valspar's "stony path" (lighter) and "granite dust" (darker) and "smoked oyster".

Also, I misspoke about the cabinets . . . they'll actually have a cranberry stain.
