We are installing a custom (not one of the already-built island style) modified outdoor kitchen on our patio, consisting of a built-in grill and refrigerator, under-counter storage compartments, and concrete countertop but no sink. It will not be under the covered section of our patio, and facing the southwest in Texas heat, so we need something high quality.
We thought we had decided on either a DCS or Fire Magic grill but have now heard about Bull. We do not want a Lowes/Home Depot-grade grill (Weber, Char-Grill, etc) but we don't want to spend $10K for it either. We're looking in the $2500-3500 range for the grill itself. Do any of you have any experience or feedback with any of these brands, or any other good outdoor brands we should consider?
Thanks for the feedback, txgolfer. I looked at the Weber 670 but it still seems to be significantly less expensive than the other true built-in grills (the ones without the cart or storage underneath, like the brands I list) so I wonder about quality. You can tell a difference when feeling the materials they're made with and I wonder about durability over time.
I've heard great things about the DCS and that is the one we're leaning the most toward at this point. It is truly commercial grade, with the ceramic radiant technology that is supposed to be very forgiving for the cook! The Fire Magic had a few more fancy little gadgets on it but nothing that really would make a difference (on a car, yes...grill, no); they both had the rotisserie, which is imperative! I asked one salesman at a BBQ-specific place who sold both Fire Magic and DCS which one he would choose and he said the DCS...and it was a few hundred dollars less expensive!
Any other feedback from the rest of you??
