This is what I mean by a monochromatic room with one contrasting, dramatic color. Notice how wonderful the silver lamps are too - gives the room some sparkle and elegance. The darkness in the rug and the animal print add drama and also ground the furniture grouping.

Default opinion on new rug

Area Rug help!-rug.gif
Hi,

I agree that I need a little color but I have simple taste that all the contemporay styles are too busy and I don't want anything too formal. I did find this one on Target that I think I may like. Unfortunately they do not carrry it in the store but I think I may order it. What do you think? I think it is not too busy and will added a little color. I was hoping for something more plush but I really like the simplicity of this. Picture didn't seem to come out. Try this link http://www.target.com/gp/cart/view.h...498291-4391201

VERY nice room! Good use of neutrals and limited colors!
