So I am having a bit of a dilemma. Our new house has Brazilian cherry floors in the laundry room...and we recently found a great deal on a really good set of LG washer/dryers... However, the only available color is cherry red.
Of course the husband sees NO PROBLEM with this..after all it is only the laundry room. But, it's located on the first floor between the garage and kitchen, so it's not like it's completely hidden away. Plus I know the clash of colors would really bother me, even if it's only the laundry room... He's willing to get something else (in white) but I feel dumb for making it all about color for an appliances like this. Oh and there's a door to the room, so it can be shut of course..
My question is, would you suggest anything (mat, etc) to put underneath to break up the color and perhaps to help protect the floor too... Or just go with the red/red combo. or get another set of dryers in white? Personally I'm not the "red" type, so I'm not that thrilled with the idea in the first place.
I think wood floors in the laundry room would bother me more than red appliances.
You said it, sister!
Who on earth was thinking hardwood in a laundry room?
As for the appliances- it what they do(!) not what they look like. Still on the washer/dryer set when we married- Almond. How's that for longevity?
The only thing I've had to do is replace the timing mechanism for the washer.
If I saw it I would think you had beautiful floors and cool appliances. but what do I know.
If you have your heart set on the LG set because of specs and features I would go out and find a set in the color you choose and pay what you need to pay. Or take your time and wait for a sale.
You can get a pan for underneath your washer that goes to a floor drain.
