We recently bought a new (Dolan Design) chanderlier online. We installed it properly (I think) but the light never comes on. We are thinking maybe there is an electrical short/circuit problem inside. Is it possible that the chandelier was broken before leaving the seller's warehouse? We bought a set of 3, out of which only the kitchen light works so far. The matching pendant has the same problem with the chandelier, even though we tested the circuit before installing the exterior decorative part and the light came on. We are looking for a solution before having to ship it back to the seller because the shipping will cost a fortune.

We are so close of finishing a year-long renovation project :-(

Any idea how to fix it? Thank you very much in advance.

Take it down and start over from scratch.

Did any light fixture work where this chandelier is going?
Do you know WHICH wires in the J-Box are needed?

Can you get the chandelier to come on by itself (on the floor)?

One or the other of these (the house wiring or the fixture) is the problem.
Determine which... and fix it.

Another idea might be to take the both pieces that don't work to a lamp repair shop. Say they were a gift and you are embarrassed to tell the people that gave them to you that they don't work. I am sure they could test them and tell you, if in fact, they are defective.

what color wires do you have coming into the fixture from the ceiling and what colors are provided at the fixture itself?

Call an electrician, you have no idea what the last person did.
