I'm getting ready to order a sofa. I've looked at the the model with welting and without welting. I'm tending to favor the "look" of the model without welting, but want to know if I'm missing something.
What are the pros and cons of having welts? Of not having welts?
I love welted cushions - it is a more formal, finished look that appeals to me. I vacumn my couch/chair cushions once a month to keep things tidy. Even our outdoor furniture has boxed, welted cushions - love it!

I have welted, down damask cushions and I agree formal and finished describe the look perfectly. That is in the living room which is mainly used for parties (which there are many) and Christmas.
Now the man cave room is another story, leather and futons with washable cushions!!!

Yes - totally agree. Our living room upholstered furniture all has of welted cushions and they get little wear - really only at parties. The family room has mostly leather (although the cushions are welted)...leather is the bomb when it comes to wearability.
