I'm looking for a brushed or ball-peened copper veggie sink that's about 12"x12" max.

I see them in 'zine ads, etc. but can't find any to purchase. Yes, it must be copper; without the oil-rubbed bronze or any other coating...that would inhibit copper's anti-microbial properties.

Does anyone have this in their kitchen? Where'd you find yours?

Really? You've seen these in magazines yet the source is not listed? 12x12 seems very tiny to me. Most prep sinks I have seen tend to about 15-17 inches square. I wonder if the ultra-high end kitchen designers don't have relationships with artisans to deliberately make things too small to be practical...

About the smallest I've seen is this unit -- Native Trails CPS147 13" Self Rimming / Undermount Small Square Bar or Prep Sink --frankly those sloping sides and small drain would make this a losing proposition in my book, but if you have your heart set on a thing I know sometimes logic loses out.

If you want copper with no finish on it you ought to know it'll tarnish rapidly and probably suffer pitting from some many acidic / alkaline kitchen ingredients.

Only problem is the OP wants a 12" sq sink and those are all larger...

Really the functionality of a tiny sink, even if it is the "secondary sink" in a larger kitchen is quite poor -- smaller drain opening mean that you might not even be able to fit a garbage disposal in the thing, if the sink is truly 12" sq and has a drain opening sized for a disposal the "floor" or the sink around that opening will be so minimal that every time you rest a paring knife or tasting spoon in that tiny sink it'll end up falling into the disposal.

While I don't think you want / need multiple huge sinks in even an enormous kitchen the proper size sink to be functional for prep/ clean-up can probably be found on the page K'ledgeBldr linked too.

I would really be surprised if the magazines are not simply showcasing such sinks in an under-mount fashion so they appear smaller...

Hmmm, well, a typical bunch of celery or carrots is usually longer than 12 inches....that would be a too-small veggie sink I'm afraid.

That is a very interesting idea. We're going to look into that. Thanks.

Yeah, amazing isn't it? You'd think those companies that make kitchen cabinets, flooring, pendant lighting, microwaves, and windows wouldn't be so absent minded as to not list in their ad the maker of all the other items in their photos.

I'll look for an artisan to make the impractical, illogical sink size I'm looking for. Thanks for the idea.

Copper tarnishes? Really? OMG. It'll look old in no time! Who wants an old sink in their 1880s home?

No, not really. It's going to be used in a butler's pantry by the microwave. How big of a sink do you need to pour a cup of water?
