Does anyone have any feedback on showplace cabinets? One of the designers I'm considering works a lot with these, as well as mouser if you need to go the custom route. They look great and seem like they are great quality, but I'm not that familiar with the brand.

Any positive and/or negative feedback?

I already helped you out but I will also post here about this product.

Showplace is a fairly new cabinet company, maybe 2000 or so. We used to carry them in our showroom but never sold one and told them to take their displays back. They were quite junky and cheap. Today they are employee owned and doing ok during these economic depression times.

Their offerings (doors, colors etc.) are good and quite respectable. I have not worked with them since they grew into a better product but I hear nothing bad about them anymore.

I have no experience with Showplace.

I do have experience with Mouser. While they offer a wide range of cabinets and will alter sizes pretty much w/o limit, they will also end up at an ASTRONOMICAL price if do use all their options.

There are firms in basically any city of decent size that make the bulk of their business doing things like building teller stations for banks and boardrooms for law firms that will genereally have all the same capabilities of "nationally advertised custom cabinetry" with a price tag that is in many cases LOWER than even midrange stock cabinets. They have far less overhead and basically use kitchen cabinets to keep their crews busy during economic downturns...

Many kitchen designers have connections to local craftmen that can deliver a truly one of kind kitchen at a very fair price.

The designer i went to did say Mouser is very expensive, and only to be used if you really had unique requirements that the others couldn't meet. But his only other line was Showplace, which I don't know much about.

I don't think so going with an unheard/ not so famous brand or a new brand is a real good idea. Go for something that is famous for its product and services.

We went the custom build route and hired a cabinet maker who's been in the business 30 years, had his own shop , drop in were encourage and welcome to see your project, we learned about different woods, what would work well with our life, we were also able to see how each stain we chose would look like and design our cabinet doors detail , it wasn't that expensive 12,000. In the end we received custom sold cherry wood cabinets with all the fancy pullouts , lazy susie etc, etc .....We've been very happy, it did take six months but worth it..He was very picky and his work is guaranteed for as long as he alive! .. It's been 6 years, still very happy, we hired him to do the kitchens in our guest house and son house... They come out lovely! ....
