Basics for choosing paint color to go with tile floor

I have off next week so some testing will be done. For such an open floor plan natural lighting really sucks in here and that is a major problem. There will be several colors being tested to see what works best and hopefully it doesn't become to hard to choose.

Test the paint close to the floor.
You'll know which one works.

Yup, always try the wall color on or very near the floor.

My first home stage, I eyeballed the colors by putting the paint chip samples at eye level. That builders grade beige carpet (which was initially very neutral) looked a tad too pink after I painted the wall in a cool/yellow neutral tone.
