I would say it depends on the rest of your decor... but I like a light sage/blue-gray/mint-y (but not too mint-y) color... Restoration Hardware has a great color palette

Buttery yellow. Where in the world do we come up with these colour names? Anyway, if you are seeking a warmer look, something in an off white cream yellow might work w/yu cabinets. NOT bright yellow tho'. Let us know what you decide...

I saw a pic on the net of what i thought was benjamin moore elkhorn for the wall and tamring for the ceiling.
But the elkhorn sample looked northing like the photo.
Any ideas for master bed/bath,preferably benjamin moore

I like (and have used) BM Monterey White/ Woodlawn Blue/ Wickham Gray... but I like a really muted (Swedish) palette; which mostly consists of subtle variants of white. I prefer BM's Historic Colors. I really like Darryl Carter's (designer) aesthetic (he did the Barefoot Contessa's kitchen if you ever watch Food Network)...I find it really relaxing. I guess a lot of it depends on your furnishings... You should also check out Sheila Bridges book Furnishing Forward

Ok, not Ben Moore, but I used South Kingston (dk brn) and Mountain Haze (soft greyed green) from Behr for the kitchen and am using maple cabinets. The bedroom is a combination of 2 different golds in a flat finish and will have stripes in a gloss finish of the same color (or as close as I can mix it). I'll admit I do like dramatic colors so it's not for everyone but here goes...

The color in the left pic...looks a little like BM's Alexandria Beige (which is a pretty & dramatic color in BM's Historic Color's line)

I have that color in my kitchen and used green accents. Thinking about changing it out though. My cabinets are white.

I, too, have light-medium maple cupboards and decided that any buttery tones blended in too much with them. I feel you must go darker than the cupboards or it looks very dull. The color I used is Sea of Grass (think grass and Granny Smith apples), a Martha Stewart color from Sherwin Williams. It's a bit bold, but the warm wood tones really look good with it. My trim is Navaho white.

I dont have maple cupboards, ours are basic and white, but since we just moved into our first house, we've been doing some serious experimenting and having a blast w/colors in our house. My kitchen has 2 walls in Snapdragon Yellow, and 2 walls in Tangerine Orange! I LOVE it! Everyone walks in and either loves it or hates it. But everyone agrees, its sooooo bright!!!
I love all the color suggestions on this thread/forum! color is cheap and fun.
