I own a 100 year old brick house and want to hang some art inside. The exterior walls, where I want to hang things, seem to be completely solid. I have three prints, one that is 10 lbs and two that are around 6 lbs. Has anyone had luck using the 3M Command strips? Any other suggestions for hanging? I am worried about drilling through the concrete, especially since the house has been professionally painted.

Well, I am not sure what the walls are made of--it feels like concrete. The house is brick so it might just be brick all the way through, but the internal walls are smooth. Basically, it is completely solid--I have always lived in non-brick houses that have dry wall inside. You can tell I know nothing about construction!
Sorry I am being unintentionally unclear. When I say exterior walls I mean the inside walls that are the four main walls. The interior walls, like those between rooms, are drywalled. I only mention that they are exterior because they will get cold in the winter and warm in the summer (to touch), and I am not sure if that affects how the Command strips work.

OK, now we are getting no where!!! You want to hang art on the inside drywalls of a home that has brick on the outside.???
Let's try this, answer these questions.
I want to hang this art
a) inside the house
b) outside the house
The wall I want to hang it on is made of
a) drywall
b) brick/concrete
I am unsure what the relevance of the composition of the outside wall has to do with interior drywall if you want to hang something outside and vice versa.
Okay, sorry, forget I asked. I will talk to someone at a hardware store. Thank you.
Exterior walls do not mean outside. They are the structural walls that frame the house.

Why not take a picture with you of the wall in question. Just so you know, if these walls are drywall it makes little difference if they are structural walls or not, since you are hanging 2 very light pictures. If you were talking about a very large mirror or sculpture you would have something to worry about.
Thank you. I tried to anticipate forum questions by providing too much information, but ended up making things more confusing! In person I can describe it better. I don't know if the house being brick has any bearing, but I have never lived anywhere where the walls were solid like this--I am used to drywall.
I fear hothulamaui is right and I have to use concrete screws, which is what I had hoped to avoid.
