So i had the idea to run hardwood up the wall in my basement downstairs. I think it looks great, but i don't love it with the walnut media wall i have down there too. I'm considering ripping it out tomorrow morning. It just looks too busy for me.

Thoughts? Please don't be shy!

Thanks

-Bryan

Well, it's a look that was really big in the 1970s.

I personally don't like it, but maybe you should live with it for a week.

Did you do it yourself?

Problem is we are in the middle of a major remodel and i i'll need to get the wall re-textured and painted. I'm going to pull it. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't wrong. I would like it if we didn't already have the other walnut wall.

I didn't do the install. We had someone do it. It was probably a $300 mistake, since I got the wood for a major discount.

I like the wall with the flooring better than the other wall.

The flooring is going to stay. Unfortunately, the other wall (walnut slab) was a much larger $$ investment than the hardwood on the wall due to some custom cabinetry, so it's going to stay too. I was expecting much more variation in the wood flooring we laid, but it didn't happen. I'm completely bummed on how all this turned out.

No, you're not jumping the gun. I never like to say I don't like something that someone has done, but since you're asking for honest opinions, I have to say that it's really too much. I'd love to see how the room looks once you're finished!
