I want to separate a 15' wide room with either curtains/drapes or some kind of sliding according type screen.

My goal is sound reduction and privacy for under $500. Something like a hospital type curtain track without the industrial look, using kind of heavy theater type curtains might work. I was thinking of shoji screens but I don't want to be juggling them around all the time. Something like this (Sliding doors | Room dividers | slidingdoorco.com - Category: Home Room Dividers - Image: Home Room Dividers 001) is pretty expensive but might work if I could DIY with my minimal handyman skills. Suggestions appreciated.

An easy and inexpensive way to hang drapes is to mount a traverse rod on the ceiling. I did that in an old apartment and when the drapes were closed, you would never guess there was an entire room behind it.

There are more way to Room separating curtains. The drapery department in any department store, They don't normally come that wide, you may need several sets and sew or pin them together.
