Great ideas Suzy! Thanks so much. I like the idea of black although I worry about dust showing. The background to the cornice is black. I will look at the link too. I know that oils from hair can be an issue with fabric headboards. I want to keep the room colorful and playful but restful at the same time. Even a wooden headboard painted black might work. I have to also keep in mind that this guestroom sometimes houses small grandchildren so the more easily cleanable surfaces the better. I would like to keep the orange pillows for sure. Keep those ideas coming....I am off to look at your link...thanks for that Susy. Catt
Susy....love that headboard....clever lady that made that...so different too. The other thing is that I have a very beautiful slightly browned out tangerine colored duvet that has a very subtle batik-like stamped pattern ( which does not read as a print). I had completely forgot about it until after we were finished with the room. It would look good on the bed....there are Euro shams that go with it but they aren't matching. I have no dust ruffle for that duvet and therein lies the problem. How do you feel about the white bedding in the guestroom?
I like it because the door and wood trim in the room are white and there's a smidgen of white in the cornice fabric and some in the picture over the bed.
You could swap out the tangerine duvet for variety or a seasonal change - or use it when the grand kids come. If you went with a black headboard, then perhaps you could get a black dust ruffle to use with it.
