Oh my. My husband and I just did something really fun with our master ceiling.
OK, maybe at 55 and 51 we're immature. We knew better than to buy those glow in the dark stars that you can stick to the ceiling, but we really liked the idea of looking up at a ceiling that looks like a sky.
So - first thing we did was paint the ceiling a sky blue. It looks so pretty!
Before - about to paint:
After!
Now - you may notice something translucent looking on that ceiling. Guess what it is!
We found some paint that dries INVISIBLE (in the picture it's still wet so it's got a translucent finish to it - which went away when it dried). It's also glow in the dark!
So we painted stars and a crescent moon on our ceiling! They dried to an invisible finish - that is, if you look really hard in the daylight you can pick out these little spots that look slightly more satiny (but you wouldn't notice them unless you were looking for them). We made the stars a variety of sizes, randomly scattered.
When the lights are off, within a few seconds the stars actually "come out" and they even sparkle! They glow for several hours!
I like it!!! I don't think it's "immature" at all - I find looking at the night sky relaxing - and the pale blue color looks beautiful too. As long as it suits you and hubby - that's all that matters anyhow!!!
Ha ha. Glad you got a sense of humor. Hopes is a sweetheart, I just want to fun. Your ceiling is the kind I like. I like the woodwork.
That's OK - I get a kick out of these decorating forums when people get so offended by differences in personal taste - or get all adamant about a decorating preference as if it's a hard and fast rule.
If one is decorating and sticking to hard and fast rules, then that's a sign that one's probably not all that creative and the decorating attempts will probably be mediocre at best!

IS THAT THE COOLEST THING OR WHAT!!!!!
That does sound cool!!!
I think you need to do a CD slumber party so we can see with our own eyes just how cool it is!!
(oh, that sounded kinky. not my intention!)
