If you have a gas cooktop don't do it. It will blow the flame way off center.

It will require a lot of cleaning time in my opinion. Put it in your guest bedroom.

Not. But I also don't like them in any room.
All that said... an oscillating table top fan on top of the frig can be nice.

Greasy, hard to clean, blow the gas fire out, I don't know. I had one in my dining room because it was south facing with big doors and hot. But kitchen, hesitate.

Really? I have an oblong kitchen with the cooking area is on the opposite end of the
room from the dining area. We have an exhaust fan over the stove and an overhead fan over the table.

I rarely use the overhead when cooking, but afterward it really helps to cool the room down. We don't have AC in the house. I don't find it hard to clean and mine is white!

I wouldn't normally like it (for myself) but when my husband and I were looking at apartments to buy, one place had fan in the kitchen (small place, weird layout) and it kind of worked there. My guess is because there was no window, it got hot in there, just like ours does! I can't fit a ceiling fan in my kitchen.

This^ I've done a lot of work in kitchens that have them and they get nasty looking from grease.

Yes, really.

I would not have said so if I did not mean it!
