Ok so I wanted to build a Murphy Bed in our home office..... Wall Bed??-contemporary-home-office.jpg

Just like the one pictured my question is what kind of material can I use for the face?? I know there's Formica or wood panels and stain, Is there any other materials? My good friend has a modern looking kitchen but his cabinets don't look like wood veneer or formica they look sleek and modern maybe even shiny. Thanks for any help

You can use just about any material that suits your fancy-

The base will be plywood- you can veneer it, stain it, paint it, wallpaper it, even add tile, T&G planking, mirror or fabric. Depending on the material will determine the size of the spring(s) or gas shocks (most new versions of Murphy's use gas shocks).

For instance what would the material used in the picture be? It doesn't look like real stain or Formica, it looks like standard desk "Ikea type" finish material albeit with a very nice color, how would I go about finding something similar in material and color choices? Thanks for your reply

It's a veneer over plywood-
Could be a cabinet grade plywood or veneer over particle/MDF.
